About Charlotte
I am a freelance session musician and First Class graduate of Leeds Conservatoire, with several years of experience teaching and working with children and young people.
I have worked in the music industry for over 7 years, having toured across the UK as a guitarist and vocalist. As well as playing in various different projects across genres, I also work as a songwriter, and my co-writing work has received national acclaim with praise from Clash Magazine and Radio 6.
I fell in love with the guitar when I was 12 years old, and still remember my excitement as I learned my first chord. Guitar is one of the most versatile and accessible instruments out there, and I aim to inspire my students and give them the tools they need to unlock this incredible instrument!

My primary focus when guitar teaching is always to prioritise your needs and enjoyment. Whether you want to pursue traditional folk fingerstyle, jazz standards, pop classics, or to learn how to create your own arrangements and songs, I will tailor my lessons to ensure you get the most out of each one. For total beginners, I can introduce a range of styles and songs to cultivate a deeper understanding of the guitar.
I come from a folk/fingerstyle background, but I am experienced in a range of genres including pop and jazz. I also work as a session guitarist, touring with different bands around the UK.
I have lots of experience working with and teaching children and teenagers (DBS-checked) and am comfortable teaching any age.
I can teach both acoustic and electric guitar, as well as ukulele.
There are two lesson length options, 30 minutes (£18) and 1 hour (£32). 30 minutes is recommended for younger students. 1 hour allows us to cover much more per lesson.
If you do not own a guitar, I can provide an acoustic or electric guitar to use for the duration of the lessons. Please note you cannot hire out these instruments for home practice, but I can provide recommendations for guitars to purchase should you wish to.
