About Remy
I have been teaching guitar for over 12 years and hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Guitar Studies. Alongside teaching, I regularly perform and compose music, which keeps my passion for the instrument alive and growing. I believe music is a creative skill that lasts a lifetime, and I love sharing that with my students. I work with beginners and advanced players alike, tailoring lessons to their unique goals and abilities. For beginners, I focus on building a solid foundation and making learning fun. For advanced musicians, I dive deeper into technique, theory, and creative expression. My teaching style encourages self-expression and helps students find their own musical voice. I’m committed to fostering a love of learning that goes beyond just playing notes. Whether you want to play for fun, perform, or compose, I support you every step of the way. My teaching approach is focused on building strong fundamentals and creative skills. I emphasize classical fingerpicking techniques to develop finger strength and precision. Reading musical staff is an important part of my lessons, helping students understand music theory and improve sight-reading. I also teach hybrid picking techniques to add versatility and expressiveness to playing. Tonal control is key — I guide students on how to shape their sound for different styles and moods.
I understand the challenges faced by teens who want to express themselves freely through music. I support students who dream of recording and performing professionally by tailoring lessons to their goals. Every student is unique, so I adapt my teaching to match their pace and interests. We work on technique, creativity, and musical expression together.
My goal is to help students build confidence and passion for guitar playing. With patience and encouragement, learning becomes fun and rewarding. Whether you want to play classical pieces or create your own music, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
