About Cian
I’m a passionate guitar teacher with over 12 years of experience helping students reach their full potential. Holding a Diploma of Music with a Guitar Specialization, I’ve guided players through live performances, recording sessions, auditions, and music school entry exams. My teaching style is encouraging and focused — I believe every student can achieve musical excellence with the right guidance. I emphasize not just technique, but also stage presence, helping students feel confident and expressive in front of an audience. Creativity is at the heart of my lessons; I encourage students to explore their own voice and take musical risks. Whether it’s preparing for a big audition or simply improving skills, I tailor lessons to each individual’s goals. My approach balances discipline with freedom. We work hard on fundamentals like timing, tone, and phrasing, but I also want you to have fun and feel inspired. Seeing students grow into confident performers is what drives me. Singing tutor with 10+ years’ experience guiding beginners to professionals. I also teach saxophone, trumpet, flute, beatbox, and more. Specializing in choir and music education, I ignite passion and confidence, helping every student discover the true joy of singing.
My teaching approach for guitar is built on the idea that every student’s journey is unique, and their music should reflect that. I start by creating a strong foundation in technique—focusing on posture, finger strength, and coordination—so students can play with confidence. From there, I blend exercises with real songs, letting students see immediate progress while keeping practice enjoyable. I encourage exploring many genres, from blues and jazz to acoustic ballads and rock, so students become versatile players rather than stuck in one style.
Creativity is central to my lessons. I help students write their own riffs, experiment with chord progressions, and improvise melodies, which builds not just skill, but a personal voice on the guitar. For those who dream of leading a singalong by the fire or capturing the raw emotion of blues, I guide them step by step with patience and practical tips. Each lesson balances structure with freedom—I teach scales and theory, but also how to break the “rules” in ways that sound great.
I also focus on listening skills and rhythm work, so students can play with others or solo with confidence. Whether we’re working on a soft fingerstyle piece or a gritty electric riff, I make sure learning feels inspiring and achievable. My goal isn’t just to teach songs, but to help students connect deeply with the guitar and express themselves through it.
