About Johnie
Music exists as a constant presence that requires more than just natural inclination to master. I teach because technical proficiency actually liberates the creative spirit rather than restricting it. My 9 years of teaching guitar have shown me that players often struggle with the mechanics of rhythm and hand placement.
Over time, I have guided countless students toward fluency while maintaining the simple joy of playing. I find that focusing on the fundamentals provides the clearest path toward artistic expression. Playing the guitar should feel as natural as breathing.

My lessons at the Manhattan School of Music focused on building a rigorous foundation that I now share with you. We will work through acoustic technique, lead guitar concepts, and essential maintenance to keep your instrument in shape.
I provide custom backing tracks so students can practice soloing at home with confidence. Mastering these skills allows for a more fluid and enjoyable playing experience.
