About Addison
I earned a PhD in Guitar Performance and Modern Music Education after years of studying instrumental technique, live performance, composition, and advanced teaching methods during my academic training. During the past 13 years, I have guided students from many different musical backgrounds and experience levels, helping them improve through supportive instruction and personalized lesson planning. Teaching guitar allows me to combine creativity, mentorship, and musical communication in a deeply rewarding way. I enjoy helping learners become more expressive and confident musicians through artistic growth.
My teaching approach focuses on adaptability, patience, and balanced musical development. Some students improve best through technical repetition and structured exercises, while others respond more naturally to improvisation and creative exploration. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s personality, comfort level, and artistic goals. Along with technical improvement, I help students strengthen rhythm awareness, listening ability, expressive confidence, and performance readiness. Building a positive and encouraging learning environment remains one of my highest priorities as an educator.
Outside teaching, I continue practicing guitar, exploring different music traditions, and studying educational approaches that help keep lessons engaging and inspiring. Music remains an important source of creativity and emotional expression in my life. One of the most fulfilling parts of teaching is seeing students become more self-assured and expressive through their musical journey. Helping learners enjoy music while building long-term guitar skills continues to motivate me greatly.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students strengthen technical ability while developing creativity and confidence through practical and engaging learning methods. I teach rhythm accuracy, chord transitions, finger coordination, improvisation, strumming control, expressive phrasing, and tone shaping using clear explanations that feel approachable for learners at every level. Lessons also include fingerstyle practice, ear training, timing drills, solo development, and musical interpretation exercises that help students improve steadily over time. I create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable experimenting creatively while building strong foundational skills naturally. Every lesson supports structure, expression, and long-term musical growth together.
Beginners focus on tuning, posture, rhythm counting, and foundational chord progressions through organized exercises and patient guidance that build healthy playing habits gradually. Intermediate learners improve improvisation ability, smoother transitions, expressive control, and fingerstyle coordination through guided studies and structured musical activities. Advanced students work on advanced rhythm techniques, solo interpretation, performance preparation, and stage confidence through detailed coaching sessions. I carefully adapt lessons according to each learner’s pace, confidence level, and musical interests so progress remains balanced and motivating throughout the learning process.
Learning guitar should feel rewarding, creative, and personally meaningful. I encourage students to appreciate steady improvement while building confidence through supportive feedback and regular practice. Many learners become more expressive and independent as their musical understanding continues developing naturally over time. My goal is to help students strengthen both technical ability and artistic individuality while building a meaningful connection with music.
