About Steve
I started learning guitar at school at about 8 years old, and continued with my dad, playing over the years for family, myself, and small and large church groups. I started teaching children several years ago, and have now taught a number of adults too.

I will help you to play a song that you like in the first 2 or 3 lessons (simply and slowly). After covering the basics of holding, tuning and strumming a guitar, I teach two or three basic chords so that you can play a song. Then I gradually build up the number of chords and songs you can play, as well as your skill - to sound better, change chords faster, and play the guitar in different ways (rhythms, capo, finger picking, strumming with thumb, finger or pick/plectrum). All at your pace, your kind of songs, and learning what you want to learn. I teach standard guitar playing with standard chords, without any particular style, and not classical or 'finger style' guitar. But you can use an acoustic or classical guitar to play.

This is my son who has been teaching English as a foreign language for 10 years and also teaches some Thai ,Spanish, and guitar. He is friendly, and informal, relates well to other nationalities as he's lived in Thailand for many years and fluent in the language .He is honest and conscientious and doesn't charge too much for lessons.
I'm one of Steve's 3 sisters. Steve is the most gentle and patient person I have ever met. A great listener and a big empath. Having lived in 3 different countries he is able to relate and connect across cultures and has an accent that is easy to understand.
I met Steve a couple of years ago as he was helping to run a group for international students at my university. He is kind and friendly - always ready to see the need and help out. He has a deep understanding of different cultures and is extremely patient, while also speaking English very clearly and correctly. Totally recommend him!
Steve is a gentle, encouraging guy, with lots of experience in ESOL teaching. He's also lived abroad for many years and knows what it's like to have to communicate in a new language, and to have to settle into a new culture. Check him out - you wont regret it.
