About Willow
My passion for guitar began through a love of melody, rhythm, and musical storytelling. I pursued an M.Mus in Guitar Performance and Music Pedagogy, gaining both technical mastery and teaching expertise. Over 11 years of teaching, I have guided learners from beginners to confident performers. I believe guitar instruction should balance structure and creativity. Many learners face early challenges with coordination or timing, so I focus on clear explanations and gradual progress. I tailor lessons to match each student’s pace and musical goals. Outside teaching, I remain active in music through performance, composition, and exploration of diverse genres. Teaching guitar is deeply fulfilling because I witness students grow into expressive, confident musicians. Supporting their artistic journey is one of the most meaningful aspects of my work.

Guitar lessons become rewarding when learners build solid technique while exploring creative expression. My lessons focus on chord transitions, fingerstyle technique, rhythm control, scales, strumming patterns, and musical interpretation. I emphasize understanding how technique supports expression, allowing students to play confidently and creatively. Lessons are structured, encouraging, and designed to promote steady improvement without pressure.
Lesson content is tailored to each learner’s experience. Beginners focus on posture, basic chords, rhythm patterns, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners develop dexterity, barre chords, expressive phrasing, and scale fluency. Advanced learners explore improvisation, advanced repertoire, stylistic interpretation, and performance preparation. Each lesson includes demonstration, guided practice, and constructive feedback.
Guitar lessons also foster patience, creativity, and self-belief. Students gain confidence as they see progress and learn to express ideas through music. My goal is to help learners enjoy guitar playing while developing strong technical and expressive skills.
