About Benjamin
Having provided private lessons as well as assisting in lessons taught by Don Braden and Laszlo Gardony for a number of years, I have the tools required to help students of any level from beginner, to intermediate, and even to seasoned professional who is trying to break through a roadblock or find a new approach to their own musical practice.
With years of gigging and recording experience, as well as a degree in theory and performance, I can be a guide and mentor in many aspects of your musical life. My holistic approach and teaching across a range of topics will surely kickstart your development as a musician and artist!

I take the time to get to know each student, their current level (from Beginner to Professional), and their goals as a musician to make a lesson plan specific to the student. I'll handpick songs that will help you get to the next level. Don't worry, you can ALWAYS bring a piece of music, or a concept to a lesson, but I will also have an infinite roster of suggestions based on your goals and tastes. While teaching new songs which target specific goals or problem areas, I'll also provide approaches to practice, learning new music, collaboration, creativity, improvisation, and technique.
I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Music and have learned from many excellent musicians and teachers. My open minded teaching approach is inspired by my college advisor, renowned jazz pianist Vijay Iyer. I have been working as a professional guitarist in multiple bands playing Jazz, Rock, R&B, Pop Covers and more, for the past 5 years and can bring real experiential knowledge to help any student learn faster, acquire technique more quickly, and find immense joy in music making.
