About Davis
Students come to these lessons because they want to produce video that looks and feels professional — not just technically correct, but genuinely usable for business, media, or their own creative work. That is what I teach: complete video production, from filming through editing to final output, grounded in real production work rather than theory alone.
My production credentials include a completed film subtitling contract and a full music video editing project, giving learners instruction shaped by real deadlines and real client expectations. Whether a complete beginner or refining advanced skills, every student can expect a professional, patient, and results-focused learning experience, built on a training practice established since 2015. Over more than a decade, I have trained over 1,500 learners and delivered services to more than 20 organizations — from individuals building creative careers to established corporate clients, including, on one occasion, traveling by boat to deliver training to a client of Shell Corporation, because meeting the learner where they are has always mattered to me.
My teaching is guided by a structured methodology I call Human Learning Proficiency, through which I assess how each individual learns best and adapt instruction accordingly, rather than applying one fixed approach to every student.

Teaching Approach and Methodology
My teaching approach is grounded in what I call "Husk and Dusk" — a philosophy built on earned, practical knowledge rather than theory alone. The "husk" is the disciplined, technical foundation of filming, editing, color grading, and subtitling; the "dusk" is the deeper judgment gained only through real production work — knowing what to shoot, what to cut, and what makes a final product actually usable, not just technically complete. This is supported by my Human Learning Proficiency methodology, through which I assess each learner's pace and style and adapt instruction accordingly, rather than applying a fixed curriculum. Every lesson is output-based: learners leave each session having produced real, usable footage or a completed edit, not just notes on technique.
