About Maddie
I’m a graphic designer currently working for the Rancho Santiago Community College District. I graduated from Concordia University Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and a minor in Computer Science, and I’m now pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in 3D Animation and Visual Effects at Academy of Art University. I have over five years of experience using the Adobe Creative Suite and am also proficient in several coding languages. My work spans animation, digital layout, branding, data implementation, media graphics, and print design. While I’m practiced in a variety of design and technical skills, I’m always eager to continue learning and expanding my expertise as I grow in my career.

Teaching Method & Techniques I use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to teach typography, design principles, branding, web design, and more. My lessons are very hands-on — we’ll create projects together that are both fun and practical, always moving toward building a portfolio that students can be proud of. I can also introduce animation for anyone who wants to explore motion in their work. Typical Lesson Plan Each lesson starts with learning a tool or concept (like setting up type in InDesign or using layers in Photoshop) and then applying it right away in a project. Over time, we’ll create three polished pieces — one in each program — that can go straight into a portfolio. What Sets Me Apart I’m not only a tutor but also a student myself. I’m currently working on my Master of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art, so I know firsthand what it’s like to be learning and experimenting every day. That helps me connect with my students — I remember what it feels like to be starting out, and I’m patient, supportive, and excited to grow alongside them. Who the Lessons Are For My lessons are perfect for high school students who are preparing for college and want to start a portfolio, as well as adults who are beginners with Adobe software and looking to learn creative skills from the ground up.
