About Giovanni
I'm Giovanni, 26 years old guitarist and pianist. My first approach to music was when I was nine with the piano, an instrument that I love and that I have never abandoned. As a teenager, however, I also fell in love with the guitar which in a short time became my main instrument, so much so that I chose to study it at the conservatory.
The thing I like most about playing is the particular energy that is created in sharing music, playing together and above all improvising, so the most natural choice for me was to study jazz, even if I am convinced that the musical genre should not be a constraint in one's way of playing and listening to music.
I have a bachelor's degree in jazz guitar at Siena Jazz University and I am currently attending the two years at the Conservatory of Rovigo.
Also since high school I had different experiences of live music and for six years now the concert activity has been, parallel to the study, my main activity.
I have had several private teaching experiences with children and adults.

I try to focus my lessons on playing together to become familiar with the rhythm and develop an ear attentive to the melody and therefore the ability to improvise and compose. Together we will gradually tackle the study of scales and the right hand technique (plectrum and arpeggiated), harmony and music theory.
In my lessons I always try to combine the topics covered with a repertoire of pieces agreed together that allow the theoretical aspects to be immediately put into practice.
Furthermore I always try to pay attention to the characteristics of the person in front of me by proposing different approaches to study and listening advice that can promote musical growth and stimulate curiosity.

Giovanni è davvero un ottimo insegnante, meticoloso e molto attento a rendere semplici concetti teorici forse all'inizio un po' complessi per chi si approccia alla chitarra. Ha ottime conoscenze e preparazione anche a livello pratico, è davvero un bravo musicista, ascolta moltissima musica ed è molto bravo a venire incontro alle esigenze e ai gusti dei suoi allievi. Consigliatissimo!
Giovanni è riuscito a spiegarmi questioni di teoria musicale che reputavo incomprensibile alla normale mente umana, che inconsapevolmente mi bloccavano nello studio dello strumento e nella riproduzione di spartiti; facendomi capire quanto le due cose siano collegate fra di loro rendendomi più intonato ma soprattutto a mettermi a tempo!

Details
For individual lessons the cost is 15 euros per lesson, both in person and via webcam. I am also available for group lessons (from two people upwards) at the price of 10 euros per person.
