About Paddy
I am a professional percussionist and drum kit player and dedicated music educator with a broad performance background spanning classical, contemporary, and commercial music. I studied at the Royal Academy of Music on a full scholarship, and I have worked extensively in orchestral and ensemble settings. I have played as Principal Percussionist with both Opera North and Sinfonia Cymru, and also perform regularly with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta, working on a wide range of repertoire from core orchestral works to cutting-edge contemporary music. In addition to my classical work, I have extensive experience in bands and touring projects. I have played in multiple bands, touring around Europe and supporting artists such as Olivia Dean and Sam Fender. I bring this experience directly into my teaching, helping students develop versatility and confidence across genres.

I have built a strong and rewarding teaching practice. I currently have several private students whom I have taught consistently over the past couple of years. My students range in age and experience, from beginners discovering percussion and drum kit for the first time to more advanced players preparing for auditions, exams, or further study. I have prepared students for graded exams on ABRSM and Trinity boards with success as I tailor my lessons to the individual, recognising that every student learns differently and benefits from a personalised approach.
