About Tim
My musical experience encompasses an eclectic variety of music covering rock, pop, R&B, funk, blues, jazz, fusion, and classical. Residing in both Los Angeles and San Diego, I teach; do session work in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego; am a guitarist for several churches in San Diego; and perform as a musical theater orchestra guitarist. Currently I have a residency at a Los Angeles venue where I run a jam session.
I have been a teaching and performing professionally over forty years. I graduated from Musicians Institute, the University of Southern California, and I have bachelor's and master's degrees in music. I am currently working on a doctorate in performance at USC, with an emphasis in music teaching and learning.

I am a lifelong student who is proficient in numerous teaching approaches from Berklee, Musicians Institute, and USC. I am currently working on a doctorate in performance at USC, with an emphasis in music teaching and learning. Together, we craft bespoke lesson plans based on your goals, using the music that you love. Anyone can teach academics; I teach that while keeping you playing beautifully in a way that is moving to listeners. I have something to offer for all levels.
