About Anna
I am a dedicated Special Education English teacher with 10 years of experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs. I specialize in helping middle school students strengthen their reading, writing, comprehension, organization, and study skills.
My experience in special education has taught me that students are most successful when instruction is individualized, encouraging, and built around their strengths. I have extensive experience working with students with IEPs, autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, and students who need additional academic support.
I strive to create a comfortable and positive learning environment where students are not afraid to ask questions or make mistakes. My goal is to help each student understand the material while also developing the confidence and independence they need to be successful in the classroom.
I truly enjoy helping students recognize what they are capable of and celebrating their progress along the way.

My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and individualized. As a Special Education ELA teacher with 10 years of experience working with students with diverse learning needs, I understand that every student learns differently. I break reading and writing skills into manageable steps, provide clear examples, and adjust instruction based on each student's strengths and needs.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review and a clear goal for the session. We then work together on skills such as reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, essay writing, paragraph organization, or understanding classroom assignments. I use modeling, guided practice, graphic organizers, repetition, and positive feedback before helping students work more independently.
What sets me apart is my experience working with students who may struggle in a traditional classroom setting. I focus not only on improving academic skills but also on helping students build confidence and become more independent learners. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and know that making mistakes is part of learning.
My lessons are especially appropriate for middle school students, including students with IEPs, learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, or students who simply need additional support with English Language Arts. Lessons can be adapted to each student's current ability, school assignments, and individual learning goals.
