I graduated from IISER TVM with a master's in mathematics and I am now doing an internship developing AI for cancer research. I love teaching and believe that it is as important a part of mathematics

About Adithya
I graduated with a BSMS in math from IISER TVM. I previously read algebraic geometry but I now work in applications of AI in medicine. I have done internships at IISER Mohali, TIFR Mumbai, Trivandrum Medical College, ISB Mohali and I am now working in collaboration with researchers at Sri Chitra Institute developing AI models that can classify brain tumours from MRIs. I am currently applying for PhD positions abroad. I realised I have a talent in teaching when I helped my physics major friends with math courses they were taking. I believe half the fun in math is understanding things yourself and the other half is communicating those concepts with others.

As a teacher I believe in bloom's taxonomy which is to say that I believe that understanding a mathematical statement, applying it to solve a problem or to prove another statement is more important than trying to memorise the statement. I believe that memorisation will follow automatically from these higher order thinking skills. I bring with me a background in both pure and applied mathematics. I would like to encourage my students to approach problems in their own unique ways. A typical class would ideally start with me going through the objectives of the class in a way that gets the student excited to learn the specific topic. I believe a teacher's most important jobs are to get a student hooked on a topic and clearing their doubts. Students are capable of doing everything in between. I would like to teach students who are at an first year undergraduate level or lower.
