I design structured ESL lessons that help students build confidence step by step. My approach integrates interactive storytelling, gamified learning, and real-life applications to reinforce concepts in meaningful ways. Through scaffolded instruction, engaging group activities, and personalized feedback, I ensure students develop strong grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills naturally. My lessons are tailored for beginner and low-intermediate learners, offering a supportive and dynamic environment where they can apply lessons in practical contexts and progress with ease."
Level: Beginner ESL
Objective: Students will understand and use expressions like “quarter past,” “half past,” and “o’clock” in real-life contexts.
1. Warm-Up (5 minutes) – Story Introduction
- Start with a short, engaging story:
“Today, Leo is late for school! His alarm rang at half past six, but he woke up at quarter to seven. He rushed out at seven o’clock, hoping to catch the bus.”
- Ask students what happened each time to reinforce the meaning.
2. Concept Presentation (10 minutes)
- Show a visual clock and explain time expressions step by step.
- Provide simple sentences using real-life examples: “Lunch is at half past twelve.”
- Practice pronunciation of time-related expressions.
3. Interactive Game (15 minutes) – Time Challenge
- Game: “What’s the Time?”
- Use a toy clock or flashcards. Call out different times (“quarter past three”) and students must show or point to the correct time.
- Pair activity: Students ask and answer, “What time do you wake up?” or “What time is dinner?” using time expressions.
4. Application Phase (15 minutes) – Story Creation
- Students write or tell a short story about their daily routine using time expressions.
- Group storytelling: Each student adds a sentence (e.g., “At seven o’clock, I eat breakfast.” Then the next person continues).
5. Assessment & Wrap-Up (10 minutes)
- Mini quiz: Fill in the blanks with correct time expressions.
- Final story recap: Ask students to recall Leo’s schedule using time expressions.
