About Leighia
Leighia has been a student of Yoga since 2005. At first I was VERY frustrated by how inflexible and weak I felt – it was incredibly humbling for me. Soon I started to feel stronger, healthier, centered, more balanced and peaceful. My life began to change in wonderful and unexpected ways. I finally saw the beauty in patience, discipline and being still inside. Somewhere along the way I found my teachers voice and began to use it. Now I realized I was waking up and began to listen to my intuition and later trust it that my passion to teach and giving to others was important work. I believe that every day brings a new lesson and I LOVE having anything to do with people getting into Yoga and having their lives changed as a result. I have completed many teacher trainings in conjunction with Wellpark college of natural therapies and Integrative Healing Strategies, & Holistic Studies. As a yoga practitioner my training reaches restorative yoga and mediation, yinyasa Flow, pre-natal Yoga, chair yoga and various types of energy work, Ayurvedic nutrition lifestlye culture and massage. I am certified with the prestigious Bihar School of Yoga India, IFY Teacher Trainer Ambassador South Florida. I have completed 3 years of Yoga and Ayurveda training at Wellpark College of natural therapies in Auckland NZ plus countless of workshops and extra credit training in anatomy and physiology.
On the personal side, I grew up in New Zealand and the USA and have two amazing children whom where my first inspiration to teach while we sailed around the world. I feel that a little sense of humor can go a LONG way & I trust that the Universe guides us to become present too what our healing needs are. I believe energy medicine is VERY powerful and lifestyle improvements within oneself guides us to being a better you which reflects in mind body soul family friends and community bringing in yoga culture to remember to be healthy with yourself and our environment.

Leighia offer's a range of practices all days of the week, welcoming beginner and advanced students alike. With a background in massage therapy and a strong interest in alignment and accessibility. Each class or therapy session I strive to create a safe environment for everyone to practice and explore the deeper dimensions of the yoga tradition. I have 15 plus years in learning Yoga culture and Ayurvedic medicine. I teach vinyasa, yin and restorative classes as well as conducts teachers' trainings, workshops and specialty classes for specific conditions.
