About Shelby
I am a graduate from The University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education. I student taught both Freshmen and Juniors Honors English courses, and I am currently in my second year of teaching middle school. Although I have not been in this career long, I have always had a passion for ELA, and I know what it takes to instill that same passion in others. I have witnessed firsthand what works and does not work for ELA students, and as someone who is adaptable, I can tailor lessons to meet the needs of specific students.

As a current English teacher, I know what skills students need the most and how to instill those skills with my lessons. I like to make learning creative yet challenging for an enjoyable and beneficial experience.
