About Annika
Hi! I am a graduate student working towards my Master's in Public Health, with a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience.
I genuinely enjoy working with students and helping them build confidence in their learning. I've spent years supporting my siblings and peers with maths, science, and essay writing, and they often tell me I'm clear, patient, and easy to work with. I understand that school can be incredibly stressful. My goal is to make challenging material feel more manageable and less intimidating, helping students build both understanding and enthusiasm for learning.

I am open to teaching primary and secondary school students, typical ages 12 - 15 years. For essay writing, I support secondary school through undergraduate level students with structure, revision and editing.
Methods: For maths and sciences, I typically start with the student's question (whether that be a homework problem or general concept question), identify gaps in understanding, and explain underlying concepts step by step before reapplying them to the problem.
For essay revision, I start with getting an understanding of the prompt and the student's writing style, as well as the argument they are developing. I then work with the student to improve clarity, vocabulary, sentence structure and overall coherence.
Scheduling: Lessons can range from 30 minutes to one hour, depending on the student's preference.
Experience: informal one-to-one tutoring with siblings and peers in maths and biology. Informal essay revision support with siblings and peers across subjects, including English and science-based topics.
