About Erin
I have been knitting and spinning for over 13 years. I am also a graduate of the Marshfield School of Weaving. I learned my skills traditionally and have particular expertise in barn frame loom use and repair. I have studied knitting and weaving traditions in the US, Bolivia, Peru, and Scotland. I am a Scottish History graduate student focussing on the history of hand weaving and knitting as connected to the Gaelic language.

I very much believe in hands on learning. My teaching methods can involve generalised introductions to weaving, spinning, and knitting as well as tutorials on specific traditions. I am happy to explain and demonstrate different techniques, as well as to look at a student’s work.
