• 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I've always been drawn to the medical field because of its potential to positively impact people's lives. As for private tutoring, I found that I enjoyed helping others understand complex concepts and seeing the "aha" moment when they grasped a difficult topic. This experience has allowed me to tailor my teaching to individual learning styles and needs, making the learning process more effective and engaging.

• 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  to pharmacology and therapeutics. I enjoy discussing pathophysiology and clinical applications of various medications, as well as exploring case studies that illustrate key concepts. Students often find it helpful to understand how theoretical knowledge applies to real-world patient care.
  
  Some topics I particularly enjoy teaching include:

  - Mechanism of action of different drug classes
  - Adverse effects and drug interactions
  - Therapeutic uses of medications in various disease states
  
  As for topics that might be less engaging, it could be areas that require a lot of memorization, such as specific drug names or detailed biochemical pathways. However, I believe that breaking down complex information into manageable chunks and relating it to clinical scenarios can make even these topics more interesting and relevant.
  
  Overall, my goal is to make medicine accessible and understandable, helping students build a strong foundation for their future careers.

• 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  I had a professor in medical school who was an exceptional teacher and mentor. She had a way of explaining complex medical concepts in a clear and concise manner, making it easy for students to understand and retain the information. Her passion for teaching and her dedication to her students were truly inspiring, and she played a significant role in shaping my approach to education.
  
  What I admired most about her was her ability to balance academic rigor with empathy and understanding. She recognized that learning medicine can be challenging and stressful, and she always made herself available to answer questions and provide support. Her teaching style and mentorship not only helped me develop a strong foundation in medicine but also instilled in me a desire to pass on knowledge and skills to others.
  
  As a tutor, I strive to emulate her qualities by creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for my students. I believe that effective teaching is not just about conveying information but also about inspiring and motivating students to learn and grow.

• 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

• 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  One memorable experience from my medical training was working with a patient who had a complex case of diabetes management. The patient was struggling to control their blood sugar levels despite being on multiple medications. Through collaborative effort with the healthcare team, we were able to adjust their treatment plan and provide personalized education on diet and lifestyle modifications.
  
  What struck me was the significant improvement in the patient's condition over the next few weeks. Not only did their blood sugar levels stabilize, but they also reported feeling more energized and confident in managing their condition. This experience reinforced the importance of patient-centered care and the impact that healthcare providers can have on individuals' lives. It also highlighted the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and the role of education in empowering patients to take control of their health.
  
  This experience has influenced my approach to teaching medicine, emphasizing the importance of practical, real-world applications of medical knowledge and the need for compassionate, patient-focused care.

• 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  Some challenges I faced in my subject include:
  
  - Staying updated with the latest medical research and developments, as the field is constantly evolving.
  - Balancing the depth and breadth of complex medical concepts with the need for clear and concise explanations.
  - Adapting to different learning styles and abilities among students.
  - Finding ways to make complex or dry topics more engaging and relevant to students' interests and future careers.
  - Managing time effectively to cover all the necessary material while still allowing for questions and discussion.
  
  Despite these challenges, I've found that building strong relationships with students, being approachable and supportive, and using a variety of teaching methods can help overcome these difficulties and create a more effective learning environment.

• 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  My passion lies in teaching and mentoring students, particularly in the field of medicine. I find joy in breaking down complex concepts into understandable pieces and witnessing students grasp new ideas. It's rewarding to see students apply what are some of the challenges they face, and being able to help them overcome those challenges.
  
  While I enjoy all aspects of teaching medicine, I'm particularly passionate about helping students develop clinical reasoning skills and applying theoretical knowledge to real-world patient care scenarios. I believe that this skill is essential for future healthcare professionals, and I take pride in seeing students become more confident and competent in their abilities.
  
  Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements, which helps me stay current and bring new insights to my students. Overall, my passion for teaching and medicine drives me to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that fosters student growth and success.
