About Samantha
I have experience teaching and tutoring the last 12-13 years. I have worked in the public, private and homeschooling communities of Virginia. I have experience teaching elementary through high school level students. I have previously taught Social Studies/History, Science, Math (up to Algebra 2), English, Spanish and Art. I love helping students achieve what I call "Aha moments," where material that once didn't make sense becomes visible and achievable. It is my passion to make your educational/tutoring goals become a reality. I am confident that I can help you overcome your educational obstacles with my teaching expertise and care!

I take an eclectic approach to teaching because every student learns differently (i.e. kinesthetic, visual, auditory learners approach education in a variety of ways). My lesson plans consist of a combination of listening, viewing and applying practices or skills to learn material. I specialize in teaching grades 6-12. However, I have a background in teaching elementary to high school level students. As a tutor, I am understanding, a good listener, flexible in my teaching approaches, hands on, communicative, and strategic in reaching my student's educational goals.
