About Daniel
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Physiology & Neurobiology from the University of Connecticut, where I graduated with a 3.7 GPA after earning strong marks in the very courses I now tutor: anatomy & physiology, general and organic chemistry, biology, and statistics. I studied this material recently and at a high level, which means I know both the content and the way it’s actually being tested today, not a version from a decade ago.
Outside the classroom, I’ve spent thousands of hours in direct patient care in behavioral health and have worked on research at UConn Health and during my undergraduate tenure. That experience built exactly the skills that matter in tutoring: staying patient, reading where someone is getting stuck, and explaining difficult material clearly and calmly under pressure.
I treat tutoring as a professional commitment. I show up prepared, I’m reliable with scheduling, and I’m honest with you about where you stand and what it will realistically take to improve. My aim is simple and measurable, a better grade in the course in front of you.

I’m a University of Connecticut graduate in Physiology & Neurobiology (3.7 GPA), and I tutor college and high school students in the science courses that tend to decide a semester: anatomy & physiology, general and organic chemistry, introductory biology, and statistics. I work especially well with nursing, pre-PA, pre-PT, and pre-med students, the people for whom these are gatekeeper courses that have to be cleared with a grade that actually counts toward a program.
My method is straightforward: I don’t just re-read the textbook at you. I start by finding the exact points where your understanding breaks down, it’s usually two or three specific concepts, not the whole course, and we rebuild from there. I teach the reasoning rather than memorized answers, so you can handle a question you’ve never seen before. In chemistry and statistics that means working problems out loud together until the method is automatic; in A&P it means tying structure to function so the material stops being raw memorization.
A typical lesson starts with whatever’s most urgent for you: an upcoming exam, a problem set, a concept that won’t land. I’ll have you attempt the work first so I can see how you actually think, then target the gaps directly. I build custom practice problems and condensed one-page reference sheets keyed to your specific class and test, so you leave every session with something concrete to drill before the next one.
What sets me apart is that I earned strong marks in these exact courses recently, studying the same way I’ll ask you to, so the methods I teach are the ones I actually used. I’m blunt about where you stand and specific about how to fix it.
