I have 2.5 years of experience as an undergraduate TA and as part of our training we were given evidence based pedagogical techniques. This included but isn't limited to:
-Utilizing open questions
-Growth mindset to enhance learning
-Using mental models and understanding errors in that context
I like to cater my tutoring sessions toward assignments and lectures that students are given. A lesson plan may include for example, completing an assignment, then attempting to answer other questions from the same stem, packet, or textbook. I have experience tutoring from high school to undergrad.
