About Anne
Hi! My name is Annie, and I love to inspire the inner reader in each child! I have worked in multiple Montessori and play based preschools that encourage the spirit and mind of young children to be confident, compassionate and free thinkers. I have also worked with children on the autism spectrum and find joy in supporting neurodivergent children in their learning process. I like to meet each student where they are, and delve into their interests and likes. I think it's important to tune into each student's natural strengths and build off of those. Thank you for being exactly as you are, and I look forward to starting a reading journey with you!

I work best with ages 3-7. I like to use a play-based approach and learn about my students interests and what excites them.
I would have them draw or explain to the best of their ability what makes them happy and then find texts and reading material that support their interests.
Lesson Plan:
I would spend the first 10 minutes checking in and asking about their week and anything exciting that happened that week.
Next I would choose an age appropriate book to read that maybe also has a story that relates to the challenges that my student is facing create a sense of connection.
I would then ask them to write a short sentence or draw picture about what they felt during the reading portion.
We could then work on some words as flashcards from the book and have them write five new words that they are working on.
I would end the class with some sort of letter game or fun way that encourages reading!
