About Mary
I have struggled with focus in class throughout education and owe my perseverance with Maths through to A-level to my Maths Tutor, who helped me discover my approach to learning and how I can adapt the general method taught to suit my understanding. This provided me with a toolkit that allowed me to thrive in education settings from then onwards, which is why I decided to get some experience working as a TA, to help individuals create their own method of learning so they have a tailored toolkit to support them through education. By tutoring, this is something that I can help create by providing 1-1 support, and I know just how valuable it is!

Having worked as a TA in my year off before Uni, I am aware of how valuable and empowering individual support can be. I have a TEFL (Teaching English in a Foreign Language) qualification through which I have learnt how to plan and adapt lessons so an individual can reach the best possible outcomes! I will be assessing areas for improvement and how to meet these after each lesson along with communication with my tutee, which will inform me about where they are confident and where they would like support. This means I am able to provide the support that tutees feel they need the most in an effective way. I’m easy-going and flexible, so happy to adapt my approach to what suits best at any point!
