Techniques and Teaching Methodology: My teaching philosophy revolves around creating an interactive and engaging learning environment tailored to each student's unique needs and goals. I focus on understanding the individual’s learning style, finding material and questions they would find interesting to foster a genuine passion for the subject. I focus on building confidence with exam techniques, whilst also making sure the lessons are interesting and that the student is creatively inspired as well. Typical Length of a Lesson: The standard length of a lesson is around 60 minutes, though this can be customised based on the student's needs and attention span. For younger students or intensive sessions, I may recommend 30-45 minutes, while more advanced learners or exam-focused sessions may extend up to 90 minutes. Qualifications and Experience: I was awarded a high 2.1 in English Literature from the University of Cambridge and have 6 years of experience tutoring students in English. Throughout my experience, I’ve worked with students ranging from primary school to university level, helping them improve academic performance and achieve their personal goals. My expertise also includes preparing students for GCSEs and A-levels, assisting with coursework and University entrance tests like the ELAT, or writing personal statements. I stay updated on the latest curriculum standards and teaching methodologies. I have also worked as an au-pair for a year teaching English. Who Are My Lessons For: My lessons are designed for a broad range of students, from elementary school children to adults. I work with learners of all levels—whether they’re struggling to grasp the basics, aiming to improve grades, or preparing for exams. I’m also comfortable working with students of all ages, including adults returning to education or looking to refine specific skills.
