About Brendan
Hello! As a local southern californian student, I've gone through it all in the world languages setting. From junior high onto highschool, I've seen and succeeded in AP and IB environments, and went onto get a Bachelor's in Spanish at UC Santa Barbara. Moreover, based off personal experience traveling in the Spanish speaking world and past tutoring work, I'm confident I'll be able to help students fall in love with the spanish speaking world and culture as I have myself, because at the end of the day, it's not just about acquiring another language. It's about connecting with people.

As someone who learned the language second hand myself in the class room setting in southern california, I know what it's like, and what's needed to succeed in acquiring a new language or strengthening one that might be spoken at home already.
Typically, based on the lessons I have given in previous experience, I try to balance half the class with time in grammar and written skills, dedicating the other half to vocabulary and day to day, practical usage of the language. I try to connect with words the students may already know, and with concepts that transfer over from the language they already speak. I try and use fun and engaging examples and dialogues with students, as especially with younger students, it is key to working with their attention span.
