About Kim
I am an English tutor, tour guide, actor and writer with a broad swathe of experience across social sciences; linguistics, philosophy and psychology, to name some. It informs my lessons and teaching style, taking a holistic approach to learning. This is to make students well-rounded in all areas of literacy and communication.
With my Danish background, I know how it is to learn English as a foreign language. I also know how to teach Danish to someone who can speak English. At the same time, I have lived in London for the past 6 years and taught across multiple schools, from secondary to A-levels, familiarising myself with various exam boards (such as AQA and Edexcel) and their grading parameters. I have taught adults and children, both in Denmark, the UK and globally online.

My philosophy to tutoring is simple. Trust, repetition and patience. For any learning to occur, there must be natural trust between tutor and student. Repetition is key to learning anything; you probably need to repeat the same topics more times than you would think for them to stick. And finally, patience undergirds all this. Patience from the tutor and patience from the student. Fostering trust and repetition are easier said than done and mutual patience is a key component to see them through. Sometimes it can even be taught, from teacher to student.
To ensure all three, I tailor my classes around the given student. I repeat topics they have to learn, always making sure they are truly at the level they need to be before we progress. Each student is different. Tuition is a unique opportunity to customise learning according to their needs and build a trusted partnership in the pursuit of excellence.
But there is one focal point that connects all my diverse experience and education. Allowing each student and practice of tuition to teach me in turn. Teach me what works and what doesn't, and to exhibit the very same traits I seek to enhance in my students. Trust, repetition, patience.
