About Mehmet
As a passionate mathematician, I delight in sharing the joys of mathematics with others. At the age of fourteen I started teaching my three-year old sister mathematics; since then, I have taught many individuals, small groups, and classes, both professionally and casually, and am currently lecturing on online.
My experiences in teaching mathematics have allowed me to learn the following principles:
• Nurture a good relationship with the students
• Improve student confidence
• Explain new ideas lucidly in a way which is appropriate for the students
• Show enthusiasm for the subject
• Ask frequent questions of the students to ensure they are understanding
• Be organized and well prepared

In order to effectively communicate with the students, I develop a good relationship with the students, which allows the students to feel comfortable asking me questions without hesitation. At the same time, I observe how they learn, and what they already know. This allows me to teach the students achievable material
in a simple and clear language that they can understand. I keep explanations concise and always provide simple but instructive examples. Throughout my lectures I frequently ask questions to ensure that the students are understanding the course.
When it comes to problem solving in mathematics, many students have a tendency to care only about the answers to problems and not the logic behind the concepts. During their study, they may try to just memorize solutions or methods rather than to attempt conceptual learning. To prevent this, I always avoid giving
students the exact answer and solution. Instead, I ask key questions to give some clues, some hints, and some directions.
Each student is an individual. As a mathematician, I aim for each student to reach their full potential mathematically. Additionally, I am willing to nurture each student, because I care for their full well-being.
