About Nibina
My name is Nibina Fathima, and I’m excited to be your biology teacher. I’ve always been fascinated by the wonders of the natural world—how living organisms function, how ecosystems stay in balance, and how life evolves and adapts. Hook (5 minutes): Ask: “What do you think is the most complex thing in the universe?” Then reveal: “It’s you — a living organism!” Show a short video or animation (e.g., zooming in from a person down to DNA level) to visually capture the complexity and beauty of biology. 2. Big Question (5 minutes): Pose a challenge: “Can we one day grow organs in a lab? Cure all genetic diseases? Stop aging?” Tell students: “Biology is how we get there.” 3. Real-Life Connections (10 minutes): Medicine: How biology helped create COVID vaccines. Environment: How biology helps us protect endangered species. Technology: CRISPR and gene editing explained simply. Jobs: From doctors to forensic scientists, farmers to biotech engineers. 4. Interactive Activity (15 minutes): Let them extract DNA from strawberries using simple tools (soap, salt, alcohol). This hands-on demo shows that science is real, touchable, and exciting. 5. Motivation (5 minutes): Quote: “Biology gives you a lens to see the invisible — and change the future.” End with a thought-provoking image or fact (like the number of bacteria in your mouth, or how your brain has more connections than stars in the galaxy).
