About Matthew
I am passionate about learning, words, languages. I have many years of experience and for me there are fewer sights more uplifting than seeing a child write something they didn't think they were capable of. I feel strongly about making sure children understand the reason behind what they do; that they think about every detail of their writing and want to improve. Humour is vital in what I do - and I know that children respond to that positively.

My philosophy is learning with fun. I have a good track record of improving children's writing by giving them all the tools they need to write effectively. I go through every stage of the writing process, be that creative or formal essay writing. I use examples I have written to help, and teach spelling and grammar rules in a way that makes them memorable. I teach children in year 4 to year 6 (although can teach up to year 9) - usually in lessons of an hour.
