I have always wanted to learn Arabic, I have enrolled in courses where I spent a vast amount of money as well as wasted time and effort with teachers who do not have my best interest at hand.
Nabila welcomed me to her lessons and understands that I hesitate to read Arabic due to being let down by ‘teachers’ that failed to help me in the past.
I began Nabila’s lessons from not knowing anything. Nabila makes me feel that I am in good hands and that it is okay to make mistakes. She assures me that she is someone I can rely on, not only during our lessons but also outside our lessons. Nabila gives me extra exercises outside our lessons with helpful feedback and useful techniques, such as recording myself and sharing useful links that will help me improve in areas I struggle with. Nabila is patient and works at a pace that is comfortable for me. Nabila observes my strengths and weakness, prepares lessons around my level, and makes sure we do not rush until I have mastered the level. Nabila will encourage me to strive to do my best without pressuring me and will take my mental health into consideration.
Nabila does not make her students learn around one style teaching approach, instead, she finds different methods and strategies that will work around each student’s weakness, teaching each student as an individual, based on what works well for each student and fits their needs.
I have come a long way, in such a short time, from not recognising Arabic letters to making huge progress in pronouncing Arabic letters, long vowels and short vowels, etc.
