About Gabrielle
I have a strong academic background with a degree in English Literature and Drama from the University of Kent.
Well-read, positive and empathetic with a great ability to listen to students, get to the core of their concerns and help them extract their fullest potential.
I am great with students who may feel shy or much prefer science subjects or equally students who want to pursue English at a higher level.
I have experience tutoring a student in GCSE English Literature and Language, in which my student achieved both A (level 7) and A* (level 8).
I am also TEFL certified with a total of 6 months of experience in one-to-one tutoring English as a foreign language with Ukrainian students. I can also speak French at B1 level and Bulgarian at A2.

My lessons are student-focused so I will always tailor my lessons towards your needs. I always give space for my student to voice their genuine issues or pose questions they have about the subject and provide a safe, free space where you are allowed to make mistakes as this is where the real learning happens!
I have a deep knowledge of English Literature and Language from studying at the University of Kent and achieving many 1st in my essays and research papers, with a 2:1 overall. However, at GCSE and A levels I found the curriculum and the teaching to be far less interesting than the subject actually is! I'm calm and easy to talk to, so having conversations and discussions about what you really think can honestly be a fantastic way to express yourself and find your voice - which will show in your writing.
As well as this, I can also help with improving structure, writing clarity and close reading analysis, both in essay writing and creative writing.
