About Lahiru
I work full-time as a Software Engineer and love teaching students in my free time. I graduated from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, with a major in Computer Science and Engineering. My teaching focuses on interactive learning, breaking down complex topics into simple, real-world examples. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and apply their knowledge practically. Lessons typically last one hour, with options for shorter (30–45 minutes) or longer (90 minutes) sessions. I teach school students, university learners, and professionals, helping them improve in programming, computer science, and software development.

I take a student-centered approach to tutoring, focusing on individual learning styles and needs. However, I also offer shorter 30–45 minute sessions for younger students or focused topics, as well as 90-minute lessons for in-depth study or exam preparation. The structure of the lesson depends on the student’s goals, whether it’s improving academic performance, mastering a specific subject, or preparing for an exam. I have 2 years of experience tutoring students in ICT and Mathematics, helping them build confidence and improve their understanding. My background in Computer Software Engineering allows me to provide valuable insights beyond textbooks, connecting lessons to real-world applications. Over the years, I have worked with high school students, tailoring my lessons to their specific needs. Whether it's a beginner needing foundational knowledge or an advanced student looking to refine their skills, I ensure that my teaching adapts to their pace and learning goals.
