About Shivani
I am a graduate from the University of Cambridge. I did maths, physics and art as A-levels and have since been tutoring maths and physics from primary to GCSE level, helping students to achieve high grades in tests and exams !
I have taught an extremely wide-range of students, ranging from the ages of 7-17. My teaching method has proved to be very effective, as my most recent student has improved drastically in maths, from a grade 5 to a grade 8. We are now working on grade 9 questions systematically!

My teaching method is based on helping the student to clarify the concept of what they are learning by explaining the topics in high detail. Then, we go through a range of questions together, starting from lower levels to the highest level.
I believe visual learning is extremely effective when teaching students new concepts, therefore digital whiteboards (with a range of coloured pens for clarity) will always be used. My art skills compliment this method very well!
Before the lesson I like to get an array of questions ready, relating to the topics the student and I will go through. We will do these together to ensure that the concept is properly cleared in the students mind. I then will set some additional questions for them to complete after the lesson is over. This is to check that the student has understood what we have covered. The next lesson, we will spend 5 minutes going through the questions, and 5 minutes recapping and refreshing previous topics, before moving on to the next. I find this is the most effective way to learn new topics!
