About Fergus
Fergus is an undergraduate student currently studying at the University of Melbourne.
He holds both Grade 8 AMEB Flute certificate and Grade 4 AMEB Theory of music certificate. Furthermore, he has a wealth of knowledge in working with a variety of ensembles such as Flute Quartets, Concert Bands, and Drum Corps.
Fergus has 2 years of experience in teaching music theory lessons, with each lesson tailored to each student's particular needs. In his methodology, he ensures that it allows the student to develop strong musicianship knowledge and understanding in an engaging manner, with both focus knowledge acquisition and knowledge application.
Additionally, he has previously served as the Musical Director in a Drum Corps and a Flute Ensemble. He has also been a guest conductor in School Concert Bands.

When it comes to learning music theory, the key to success is not memorizing the required content, but to develop application skills and interest in the content! I've had experience mentoring music theory students that have achieved great results in AMEB music theory examinations.
It is my passion to work with any students, lessons are tailored to student's needs and demands in addition to the required AMEB Curriculum. Fundamental skills will be built with a focus on application and practice!
