About Allison
Hello! My name is Allison and I am originally from Nebraska in the USA, and moved to Ireland in August of 2021. It has always been my dream to live here, so I am very happy to be where I am. One of the reasons I came to Ireland was to complete my MA in Global Media and Communication from NUI Galway, and I will be completing my final dissertation in August 2022. I excelled in English in high school, graduating with honours. In college, I then was a tutor for writing essays and giving presentations, as well as perfecting students' CVs. I love to hike, go sea swimming, play the piano, sing opera, read, play tennis, read, and spend time with loved ones.

My lessons for looking over a CV:
- We will look over current CV together to first pick out the things that are done well, then look over areas that may need improvement and brainstorm together. If you haven't started on a CV, we will first discuss what your special skills are along with your professional experience and then go from there. These lessons are for college-age students who are looking to go into full time employment and will typically last 1 Hour.
Lessons for an essay:
- I will require the essay to be sent to me ahead of time so that I can make my necessary notes for improvement. We will then go over my notes together and I will give you my suggestions for improvement. These lessons are for secondary school - college age students and depending on the length of the essay, could last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Lessons for giving presentations:
- You will need to have some version of the presentation ready to present to me, to which I will take notes on while being given. After the presentation, I will give feedback on both the content of the presentation and your oral presentation skills. These lessons are for secondary school - college age students and depending on the length of the presentation, could last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
