About Devya
I am a passionate and dedicated creative with a strong ambition to pursue a BA in Graphic Design Teaching. My interest in design is rooted in both visual creativity and the ability to communicate ideas effectively, combined with a genuine desire to inspire and support others in developing their own artistic skills.
I have achieved a BTEC in Graphic Design with Distinction, which has provided me with a solid foundation in design principles, digital tools, and creative problem-solving. Alongside this, I have completed Level 2 qualifications in Maths, English, and Functional Skills, as well as Key Skills Level 1, demonstrating my well-rounded academic ability. My learning journey has also been enriched through a Textile Design Course and a Digital Marketing Course, both of which have expanded my understanding of design across different contexts and audiences.
My passion for teaching is reflected in my Art Teacher Certificate, which has equipped me with the skills to guide, motivate, and communicate effectively with learners. I am particularly interested in making creative education accessible and engaging, helping students build confidence while exploring their own ideas and artistic identity.
I am proud to have been awarded Best Student of the Year in 2017, which reflects my commitment, hard work, and enthusiasm for my field. I am a highly motivated individual who is eager to continue developing both creatively and professionally.
By studying BA Graphic Design Teaching, I aim to combine my design expertise with my passion for education, ultimately becoming an inspiring educator who empowers others to express themselves and succeed in creative industries.

In my graphic design lessons, I aim to create a supportive, engaging, and inspiring environment where every student feels confident to explore their creativity. As a teacher, I focus on making design accessible by breaking down complex ideas into simple, clear steps that learners can easily understand and apply.
My teaching style is practical and hands-on. I guide students through key design principles such as colour, typography, and layout, while encouraging them to experiment and develop their own unique style. I believe that the best way to learn graphic design is through doing, so my lessons often include creative tasks like designing logos, social media posts, or simple branding projects.
I bring my background in Graphic Design (BTEC Distinction), along with my experience in textile design and digital marketing, into the classroom to give students a well-rounded understanding of how design works in real-world contexts. I also use examples from modern platforms to show how graphic design connects to everyday life and future career opportunities.
As someone with an Art Teacher Certificate, I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and clear communication. I always make sure my classroom is inclusive and supportive, where students feel comfortable sharing ideas and learning from mistakes. I aim to build not just skills, but confidence and independence.
Being awarded Best Student of the Year in 2017 reflects my dedication to my work, and I bring that same commitment into my teaching. My goal is to inspire learners, help them grow creatively, and support them in building skills that can lead to future success in graphic design and beyond.
