I have 23 years teaching experience of maths and science. I love learning and delight in seeing others learn also and gain success through supportive challenge and the belief each young person is capable of more than they often realise. I teach maths and science up to GCSE. My qualifications are: BSc Hons Physics and Geology (1985) PGCE science, physics specialism 11-19 (1992) MA Education: Child development; Learning; Teaching and assessment (1998) Teaching Maths A-level South Bank Uni. (2007) Coaching and mentoring level 5. (2009) Certificated as an Ontological coach. (2011) Certified as a transformational Coach (2012) I charge £35 an hour and £50 for 1 1/2 hour science lessons I teach in the following areas: Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Southgate, East Barnet, Muswell Hill, Highgate, Crouch End, Finchley and Enfield In the evenings and weekends. I teach ages 11 - 17. Qualifications I prepare students for? GCSE and KS3 maths and science. With a focus on improving understanding, developing useful skills, and supporting the student to be increasingly confident in their abilities and working within the subjects. For year 6 to year 8 students I have a wide range of resources and activities (from having worked in a wide variety of settings) that can support students who for some reason may not find either subject engaging, stimulating or as a parent you want to widen or broaden their understanding. Online tutoring. Skype. We agree the subject area before. and we exchange materials as required. There is also an option to work on a tablet while talking through skype. I offer all my students challenge and space to work things out for themselves. For some students the support I provide is to wait quietly for the student work something out and respond. For other students it might be to challenge them or for me to teach them differently to their previous teachers. This can bring the success and understanding that has been missing up to now. Be prepared to work hard. I will aim to teach you new and more powerful tools than you might normally get in school and understanding both about the subject and yourself..

Clean taught my daughter for second year of her GCSE Science. She found his tutoring a great help.
Clem is very good at at explaining each topic and ensuring that his student understands the fundamentals. He has helped build my daughter’s confidence. We would highly recommend him. He’s always on time and has a fantastic manner with the youth of today. He has a really brilliant way of relaying information in a very clear, concise and understanding way even for those that may have mild or slight dyslexia. He’s really helped my daughter come along and get through her GCSEs. Job well done and I would recommend Clem to anyone reading this.
Just to let you know that Katrina managed to get A in all her Science subject for which I think you very much.
Without your help and guidance it would have not been possible.
Thanks again and all the bestClem Browne is an excellent tutor who was a big help in GCSE Maths.
This was a subject that I struggled with and my initial result was a D-grade.
Clem uses a calm, structured approach that helped me gain an understanding of mathematics, as well as teaching me some approaches to use in terms of exam technique. Overall his patient and supportive approach helped me achieve a B-grade.My son did well in his June exams (which where retakes) and I am sure that Clem really helped here. Also, Clem was able to provide non syllabus related help, for example on skills and exam techniques which I think can be particularly useful for GCSE students.

Overall his patient and supportive approach helped me achieve a B-grade.my son science for the past two years. Although my son is bright he has severe dyslexia and had become disengaged from education. He GCSE maths and has engaged him fully and raised his level of work in both subjects considerably. He has high expectations of his students and this has encouraged my son to work hard and stretch himself.
Very impressed with the quality of his teaching and am very happy to recommend him as a tutor.
Increased confidence, great progress, Maths B Physics A grade.Engaging and inspiring tutor
Clem is a very experienced teacher who is particularly adept at tailoring work to each student's particular strengths and weaknesses. He is enthusiastic about his subject and communicates complex concepts with clarity, in a way that is easy for his student to both understand and remember. He also has experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties and is therefore able to effectively teach students of all abilities. He has taughtEwan liked him very much, he is dyslexic and Clem found a way to motivate him. Ewan has achieved his target and I think that Clem helped him to think before he answered any questions. I have no doubts about recommending Mr Browne as a tutor and feel free to call me if you need any more information on this matter.
Y10 GCSE double science. Clem was with us for around 2 terms and David enjoyed his sessions and always learnt something. Clem was able to focus on whichever area of the syllabus we thought would be useful, and I felt that the learning that was going on was good, and was related to the exams. My son did well in his June exams (which where retakes) and I am sure that Clem really helped here. Clem also provided non syllabus help, for example on skills and exam techniques.
