About Khizar
Hi, I’m Dr. Khizar Shahzad. I’m a highly experienced tutor for GCSE and A-Level Maths, Biology and Chemistry, teaching both in tuition centres and one-to-one for many years. Alongside tutoring, I’ve worked in schools with a wide range of learners, including students with special educational needs, and I adapt lessons to suit different learning styles, confidence levels, and attention spans. I’m strongly results-focused. My teaching style is calm, structured, and built around exam technique and exam-style practice, not just “going through the content”. I also support students applying for sixth forms and university, including Medicine and Dentistry applications (UCAT, personal statement guidance, and interview preparation). I’ve helped students apply across the UK, and one of the best parts of tutoring is hearing from them on results day when they get the grades and offers they wanted.

I create a structured, personalised study plan based on:
• The topics the student is currently studying at school
• Weak areas and gaps in knowledge • Target grade and exam board requirements
• Performance in school mocks and in-lesson checks
• Homework and time available before exams
Typical lesson structure (very exam-focused)
1. Check-in + review: mark homework, recap last lesson, fix any misunderstandings
2. Teach the topic from foundations (clear explanations, simple language) 3. Guided exam questions: we build difficulty step-by-step with exam-style practice
4. Independent exam practice (timed where appropriate) + feedback on method marks
5. Action plan + homework: targeted questions and a clear “what to improve next” list
The goal is always the same: strong understanding + strong exam performance. You’ll learn how to pick up marks consistently, avoid common traps, and feel confident under timed conditions.

Perfect! Khizar supported me with getting ready for my dentistry interview. I feel a lot more prepared and confident now. He has in depth knowledge of what different universities are looking for and exactly what knowledge I need to have going into the interview.
Perfect! Khizar has a strong academic background and very good at transferring his knowledge and experience to others. My son found his explanations of difficult concepts clear and engaging and he ensures you understood the concept without any misconceptions.
- Steadily picking up on any deficiences in his understanding, good progressKhizar's response :

Confident and polite tutor, goes above and beyond when explaining concepts.
Khizar was my tutor throughout my GCSE's and my A-levels. He is a very trustworthy and reliable person that you can depend on when it counts. Through my exam periods, he guided me on what to focus on and what to avoid. His teaching was great for me personally; firm but with a soft touch. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to take their education seriously.
Khizar is a very reliable and friendly tutor, that has taught me and my friends for GCSEs. He has a really nice vibe and simple way of explaining things.
I would HIGHLY recommend him for maths and would love to be taught by himA very diligent Tutor that has advanced into one of our most senior tutors in our centre. He carefully explains complex concepts into a step by step methodology that sticks with children. Very polite and nice person that is easy to get along with and reliable when needed.
