About Brooke
Hi! I’m a university student studying Law at Manchester, previously I completed my A-levels in politics, psychology and history, with strong experience in essay-based subjects and academic writing.
I understand exactly what examiners look for in high-scoring GCSE essays. Because I completed my exams recently, I’m very familiar with the current mark schemes and how to structure answers to gain marks efficiently.
I specialise in helping students with:
• Essay structure (clear, high-scoring paragraphs)
• Analysing quotes effectively
• Improving written expression
• Exam technique and timing
• Building confidence with literature and language papers
My teaching style is supportive, clear and practical. I focus on showing students how to break down questions, structure strong responses, and understand how marks are awarded.

• Targeted feedback and improvement strategies

I believe English becomes much easier once students understand that exams are about structure and clarity, not just “being good at English”. Many students struggle because they aren’t shown exactly how to build high-mark answers step by step.
My approach is calm, practical and confidence-focused. I break essays down into simple, repeatable structures so students always know how to start a paragraph, how to analyse a quote, and how to link back to the question clearly.
In lessons, I:
• Explain how examiners award marks
• Model strong paragraph examples
• Practise writing together
• Give clear, constructive feedback
• Focus on improving one skill at a time
Because I recently completed my own GCSE and A-Level essay subjects, I understand the pressure students feel and the common mistakes they make. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
My goal isn’t just to improve grades — it’s to help students feel in control of their writing and walk into exams knowing exactly what to do.
