About Iz
I am a friendly face who understands how challenging English can be, and understand the pressure put on GCSE students to do well, alongside how overwhelming it is. I want students to be able to feel comfortable going into exams and knowing once they walk out that they've done the best they possibly could have. I aim to help students take some of the pressure off GCSEs and will always be assuring that they can do it, issuing out praise at every step. I am an incredibly understanding person and want students to be able to feel comfortable expressing any concerns they may have, gaps in their knowledge or something they do not quite have the hang of.

I have an upbeat and friendly approach to teaching, always being interactive and a way for students to feel more confident about sitting their GCSEs. Lessons will be structured in a simple way to strive for the next grade boundary above current achievement, and shown that GCSEs are a key in opening the door to achieve anything a student may desire. A typical length of a lesson will be an hour, similar to the ones students receive in school, but will be explained slower and in more depth than perhaps the classroom of often mixed abilities are able to offer. I have mentored key stage 3 in my own secondary school after finishing my GCSES and have helped my own siblings achieve similar grades in both English and Maths. I have both an A and A* in GCSE level English Literature and Language, and obtained a B in both at A level, now training to become a GCSE History teacher. My lessons will be for both key stage 3 and key stage 4, 11-16 year olds, and those resitting English GCSE at college.
