About Harry
I'm 27 and a first year GEM student at St George's in London. I got 74 (74/73/74) on the first time I sat the exam whilst working full time at a high profile financial institution in London after being out of education for quite a few years before I decided to change careers last year.
I want to tutor because I feel as though GAMSAT is a lot more coachable than it might seem, and I initially found the whole process a little overwhelming and daunting at times doing it completely alone. At my age I don't have other friends who are applying at the same time to talk through things, nor are there many online communities to engage with. Although there are lots of resources out there, especially for GAMSAT, it can be difficult to know where to start and I hope to be able to pass on what I have learned to you!

GAMSAT is daunting. But it is very doable. One of the biggest things that you have to realise is that it is designed to scare you, but once you begin to see through the challenges the examiners are setting you, it is far more manageable than it might appear. Across all of my lessons there will be a specific focus on EXAM TECHNIQUE. I'll try to challenge you to think about the test and questions in a new light and help you to simplify and see through complex ideas.
I am a new tutor but I have put time and extensive effort into developing lesson plans and resources before launching my ad.
In our first (free) session, we can have a chat and discuss your academic and personal history as well as any other GAMSAT experience you have. I'll talk you through the way I see the exam and how I'll teach you and what prep you'll need to do outside our time together.
As for lessons themselves, there are 3 types I feel that work well:
1- (S3) Question Focus - I'll give you a list of topics I feel that you should cover in your own time, and we spend our time together focussed only on walking through questions. I'd recommend this for a recent grad just starting out on their study.
2- (S3) Subject specific study- if you have studied for GAMSAT extensively before but feel you have weak areas of understanding or performing poorly on specific question types, let me know and we can focus only on those. More instructional/ teaching session.
3-S1/S2 study and practice. I firmly believe that it's best to study for these 2 sections together. I am happy to provide a guide on what worked for me and some basic structures. These sessions should be shorter and less instructional. There is not much to be gained by someone talking at you about writing styles and the English language, the best way is practice, practice, and more practice!
I'm flexible in the length of session I can offer- although anything longer than 1 hour would have to be over a weekend due to work commitments. Lesson length should also factor in what you are doing alongside our sessions.

Pricing info-
I have my own resources to go through in class time, but I don't have a big stock of S1/3 practice questions available for your own time- this will need to be something you source yourself (although I have some recommendations!).
I am also happy to 'mark' some practice S2 essays- £15 per essay (or £25 for an A/B combo).
