About Bill
I focus on applying classroom Maths and Physics into real-world problems that I've experienced through my 6 years as a game developer, 4 years as a data scientist, or my Maths degree at Kings College London which included General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics and Game Theory. I'm a qualified Teacher and have taught at excellent Schools in Brighton, plus I have experience writing for and teaching at Daruma Education. I also have an enhanced DBS check and several references.

I teach predominantly online using live drawing software. Lessons are just under an hour and I've tutored for GCSE/A-Level Maths, Physics and Computer Science.
From my time as a teacher I know what we don't get enough time for. I try to focus on getting students talking about their ideas and working step by step so we can dig deeper and examine all of their understanding. I know that students at school can find Maths abstract and useless outside of exams, so I always try to ground the topics in real-world applications.
While in School we have to teach broadly covering a lot of topics in not enough time. Privately we can focus on depth and teach in a different direction, making new connections. E.g. We can take fractions and look at how they are introduced when we are young and evolve while still being used at college and university.
More than anything I want students to feel confident and independent. So I aim to instil good revision techniques, encourage metacognition and the ability to self-critique your strengths and weaknesses, and practise self-regulation for exam conditions. As you grow, these kinds of skills are the most important to allow you to independently succeed on whichever path you desire.
