About Silas

I am an education major with my sights set on teaching at every grade level I can. I am Deaf and have been signing ASL for 5 years. I have tutored privately in the past and want to continue doing so.

About the lesson

I work one on one with individuals over video chat, with a heavy focus on combining personal interests and hobbies + everyday need-to-know language in order to create a meaningful learning experience. I also create personal videos for review. I am a strong believer in building ASL fluency through conversation and story-telling with skilled signers. Beginners focus on building basic vocabulary and grammar conventions in context of their interests and day-to-day lives, and as knowledge grows, fluency builds and confidence grows!
