Mike has been my guitar tutor for several years now. To start with, I was quite intimidated by the idea of learning to play music as an adult but Mike completely smashed my self imposed barriers with his humour and relaxed teaching style. He is an excellent and versatile tutor as well as a skilled musician with a deep and comprehensive understanding of his instruments, a wide range of genres and music theory.

Most importantly, Mike's lighthearted, accessible and engaging teaching style makes the learning process fun and relevant to you & your musical interests. Because he has such extensive musical knowledge, Mike is able to teach in such a way that you often end up learning theory and technical skills without even realising you've done so until you take a moment to reflect. He is the master of "2 Birds with One Stone" teaching! I can say for sure that I'm a much more competent musician with a better understanding of music and my guitar that I ever thought would be possible thanks to Mike. Mike has been my guitar teacher for 8 years now and he has been fantastic the whole time. He is attentive to the areas you want to work on as well as making sure to keep the lessons fun and engaging. I started taking lessons with Mike as a beginner and I've now been learning with him for a little over 1 year and 3 months.

I look forward to every lesson with Mike. He's friendly and welcoming and I leave each lesson feeling inspired for the coming week. Lessons are based around songs of my choice, though Mike will make additions to focus upon techniques that would otherwise be absent.

Mike has been teaching me for the past 6 years and honestly you couldn’t find a better guitar teacher. He plans lessons around you, there is no pressure to learn anything you don’t want to.
