About Myrna
Dutch/British soprano Myrna is a classical/opera singer and music teacher. She studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus Hons 1st Class) and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (MPerf Distinction) and is now working as a freelancer in London.
Myrna has performed all over Britain and abroad as a recitalist and on the opera stage, with highlights including the roles of Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), the title role in Massenet's Cendrillon, Galatea (Acis and Galatea), and Sandman (Hansel and Gretel). Myrna is a member of the Grange Park Opera chorus (2021-23) and Scottish Voices. She has been soprano soloist for works including Mozart's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb, and Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music.

My teaching style is based in classical vocal technique, specialising in teaching classical Art Song and opera repertoire, however lessons are tailored to the needs and wishes of each individual student and I also teach musical theatre and folk music.
Focus is always placed on the importance of breathing technique and body awareness for natural vocal production, finding your true sound and the confidence to unleash it.
Above all, I believe that singing should be rewarding, engaging, and fun!
I have 5+ year of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and abilities. I mostly teach 1:1 but have also taught small and larger groups, and am experienced working with students with Additional Support Needs.
