About Rose
Hi! I’m a UBC Arts student and IB graduate with a lifelong background in French immersion education since kindergarten. French has always been a huge part of my academic journey, and I love helping students build confidence and enjoy the learning process.
I know that learning a language can sometimes feel intimidating, especially in school settings, which is why I focus on creating lessons that are supportive, interactive, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you want help with speaking, grammar, writing, pronunciation, or schoolwork, I aim to make every lesson both productive and enjoyable.
Having completed the IB program, I understand the importance of strong study habits, organization, and adapting teaching styles to different learners. I’m patient, encouraging, and committed to helping students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.
My goal is not only to help students improve their French skills, but also to help them feel more confident using the language in class and in real-life conversations.

My goal as a tutor is to make learning French feel fun, approachable, and rewarding. Having been in French immersion since kindergarten and completing the IB program, I understand both the academic and conversational sides of the language and know how challenging learning French can sometimes feel. I focus on building confidence through interactive lessons, real conversations, and personalized support.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and adapted to each student’s learning style and goals. A typical lesson may include conversation practice, pronunciation help, grammar explanations, vocabulary building, reading activities, and support with school assignments or exam preparation. I like to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while improving naturally.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students in a relatable and motivating way. As a current UBC student planning to major in International Relations, I bring a fresh and energetic perspective to lessons while also understanding the expectations of modern language programs like French immersion and IB.
My lessons are great for elementary, middle school, and high school students, including French immersion learners, beginners, and students looking to improve their speaking confidence, grades, or overall fluency.
