Hi! My name is Miss A. Hogan.

I’m a qualified primary teacher who has recently completed my probationary year with North Lanarkshire Council.

I’m passionate about helping children develop their confidence, enjoy learning and reach their full potential. I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each child’s individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident in their learning. Teaching Techniques and Methodology

My teaching approach is supportive, engaging and tailored to each learner’s individual needs. I aim to create a positive learning environment where pupils feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and developing their skills. I use a range of teaching strategies, including clear explanations, modelling, worked examples, practical activities and questioning to check understanding. I also provide differentiated tasks to ensure that lessons are appropriately challenging and accessible to every learner. Where appropriate, I use interactive resources and real-life examples to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.

Typical Lesson Length

Lessons typically last **45–60 minutes**, depending on the learner’s age, concentration and individual needs. Each lesson includes a clear learning focus, opportunities to practise new skills and a review of learning to identify strengths and areas for further development.

Qualifications and Experience

I am a qualified primary teacher who has completed my probationary year with North Lanarkshire Council. Through my teaching experience, I have developed skills in planning and delivering lessons, assessing pupil progress and adapting learning to meet a range of abilities and learning needs. I have experience creating engaging resources and delivering lessons aligned with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, with a focus on building pupils’ confidence, independence and understanding.

I offer support for primary-aged pupils, particularly those working within the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence. Lessons can be tailored to suit the learner’s stage, individual ability and learning goals, whether they need additional support with particular topics, help consolidating classroom learning or opportunities to extend their knowledge and skills. I aim to make lessons enjoyable, accessible and personalised so that every pupil can make progress at their own pace.
